Returning to Electra Mining Africa 2026, taking place from September 7-11, Bell Equipment is set to make a strong statement with a comprehensive showcase of equipment, technologies and support solutions tailored to the evolving needs of construction, quarrying, mining, and industrial sectors.
As operations increasingly focus on improving productivity, enhancing safety and reducing operating costs, the company will demonstrate how its integrated equipment offering and customer-focused approach help businesses achieve greater efficiency and long-term value.
Key highlights
According to Bell Equipment Product Manager Jeremiah Mokhomo, one of the standout exhibits on the Bell stand will be the Bell G140 6×6 motor grader, which has been engineered to deliver exceptional performance, safety and productivity in demanding construction, mining and quarrying environments.
The machine will be demonstrated in its unique 6×6 traction mode for superior performance in muddy and loose sandy conditions, while its final grading mode ensures precise finishing. An inching mode further enhances safety and control by allowing operators to manoeuvre accurately in confined spaces.
“The grader also features a sealed slew ring that significantly reduces maintenance requirements and a highly efficient drivetrain that lowers fuel consumption. Another major innovation is its PDS-ready platform, enabling customers to integrate the Level 9 Proximity Detection System (PDS) of their choice without expensive non-OEM modifications, ensuring compliance with the latest mining safety legislation,” says Mokhomo.
Also taking centre stage will be the Bell B50E articulated dump truck (ADT), showcasing the company’s latest innovations in payload optimisation, ride quality, fuel efficiency and operator safety. Designed to maximise productivity while lowering operating costs, the B50E demonstrates Bell’s continued focus on delivering value-driven hauling solutions.
The equipment line-up will be complemented by the Kobelco mining excavator, recognised for its powerful digging performance, fuel efficiency, reliability and low cost of ownership in demanding quarrying and mining applications.
In addition, Bell will showcase the Bell Versalift, a versatile material handling solution suited to industrial operations, alongside the JCB 3CX Plus backhoe loader, which combines operator comfort, versatility and productivity with reduced operating costs.
Rounding off the display will be the JCB 540-180 telehandler, highlighting its impressive lifting capacity, extended reach, excellent manoeuvrability and fuel-efficient performance. Its compact wheelbase, generous steering angles and three steering modes enable operators to work efficiently in confined job sites.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the JCB skid steer loader, whose innovative side-entry cab design improves operator safety by eliminating the need to climb over the bucket to access the cab.
Emerging trends
Commenting on the trends shaping the quarrying and surface mining sector, Mokhomo says the industry is increasingly focused on improving productivity, enhancing safety and driving greater operational efficiency.
“Rising global demand for minerals and commodities is placing pressure on mining operations to maximise equipment utilisation while reducing operating costs. As a result, data-driven decision-making has become a critical trend,” he explains.
To support this shift, Bell, JCB and Kobelco solutions offer advanced telematics and fleet management platforms that provide real-time insights into machine performance, fuel consumption, maintenance requirements and production metrics. This enables customers to optimise production planning, maximise equipment availability and make informed operational decisions.
Safety continues to be another major industry priority, accelerating the adoption of technologies such as PDS and Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS). Anticipating evolving mining regulations, Bell has developed technology-ready machines that simplify installation while giving customers the flexibility to integrate the safety systems that best suit their operations.
Responding to industry demands
Bell is addressing these trends by designing equipment that is ready for the future of mining and quarrying. “Our machines, including our ADTs and motor graders, are designed with PDS-ready platforms, allowing customers to install the PDS that best suits their operations without requiring costly modifications,” says Mokhomo.
The company also includes its fleet management platform free of charge for the first two years with every new machine purchase, providing customers with valuable operational data to support predictive maintenance, improved productivity and more effective fleet management.
In addition, Bell’s equipment features efficient drivetrains that reduce fuel consumption and lower carbon emissions, helping customers meet both operational and sustainability objectives. Ergonomically designed cabs further enhance productivity by improving operator comfort, visibility and reducing fatigue during extended shifts.
Addressing customer challenges
According to Mokhomo, rising equipment ownership costs remain one of the biggest challenges facing mining and quarrying operations, particularly in terms of fuel consumption, maintenance expenses and unplanned downtime.
Bell addresses these challenges by engineering machines with highly efficient, well-matched drivetrains that deliver excellent fuel economy without compromising performance. A case in point is the company’s motor grader, whose sealed slew ring eliminates many of the maintenance requirements associated with conventional grader circle systems, significantly reducing servicing costs and machine downtime.
Similarly, Bell’s ADTs offer extended service intervals that reduce maintenance requirements and maximise machine availability. Complementing its equipment offering is a comprehensive aftermarket support programme that includes cost-effective approved replacement parts and remanufactured components. These solutions help customers lower operating costs, extend equipment life, improve sustainability by giving components a second life and maximise the return on their investment.
A key industry platform
Mokhomo describes Electra Mining Africa as one of Bell Equipment’s most important industry events, providing an ideal opportunity to engage with existing and prospective customers while showcasing the company’s latest equipment and technologies.
The exhibition enables visitors to interact directly with Bell’s product specialists, experience the equipment firsthand and gain a better understanding of how the company’s solutions can improve productivity, safety and operational efficiency. It also provides Bell with valuable feedback from customers, helping the company better understand operational challenges and develop solutions that address real-world requirements.
“Our message to visitors is simple: we want to hear from them. We invite everyone to visit our stand to discover how our fleet management solutions, technology-ready machines and integrated safety systems can transform their operations,” says Mokhomo.
“Whether you are looking to improve productivity, reduce operating costs, enhance safety or extend the life of your equipment, our technical experts will be available to discuss your operational challenges and recommend practical engineering solutions that deliver measurable business value,” he concludes.
