Hindle Mason Projects recently recorded yet another mine health and safety (H&S) milestone, again demonstrating an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of its employees, as well as those of its clients and other contracting partners. This while delivering quality feasible and practical concrete repair, as well as corrosion/erosion protection solutions.

In December 2024, the company’s team stationed at Impala Platinum’s processing operations in Rustenburg achieved 1 180 lost-time injury- (LTI) free operating hours. This is the Gold Standard for mine H&S at Impala’s operations. Working to tight deadlines throughout the holiday period, the company has since clocked more LTI-free operating hours.

One of Hindle Mason Projects’ strategic key differentiators remains its ability to operate safely in high-risk environments. This is supported by skilled and experienced teams who take immense pride in what they do.

“We do not view H&S as a standalone aspect of our business that gets pushed aside when the schedule becomes tight. As a fundamental aspect of our operations, H&S is incorporated into the planning process and, therefore, managed along with quality control, scheduling, budgeting, communication, productivity and client satisfaction,” says LJ Erasmus, who leads Hindle Mason Projects’ team at Implats’ operations.

“In this way, H&S becomes a strategic investment, as opposed to something that must be done to just comply with regulations. This approach has significantly bolstered marketability, as well as internal and external communication, while also reducing long-term costs. Importantly, this investment ensures employee retention through a great company culture that takes H&S very seriously,” concludes Erasmus.
