Astec Industries has announced two major appointments. Kevin Walton has joined Astec Industries as head of Manufacturing, based at the group’s manufacturing facility in Elandsfontein, Gauteng. Phuti Maphoto has been appointed head of Supply Chain, having held the position of warehouse manager since joining Astec in November 2017.
Walton was previously the operations manager at Tupperware SA. Prior to that, he was the engineering manager at a ceramic tile manufacturing plant, before moving to the plastic moulding business. He started his career as an apprentice in the mining sector, later qualifying as a mechanical engineer, so he brings a wealth of experience to Astec Industries.
Maphoto’s dedication and leadership in his previous role set a new standard for excellence and made Astec Industries’ Elandsfontein warehouse operations a benchmark for the entire company to follow. Astec looks forward to his positive impact on its supply chain in his new role.
