Manqoba Moyana, SHE officer at Lafarge SA’s Nelspruit Quarry, has been appointed ASPASA regional chairperson for Mpumalanga, Quarrying Africa can report. Moyana succeeds Antony Bowen, who has taken on a new role as the environmental auditor of ASPASA.

Commenting on Moyana’s appointment, Bowen says: “We have appointed a competent young man to head up the regional committee in Mpumalanga. I had the privilege of working with Manqoba for many years at Lafarge Nelspruit. He is a qualified health and safety manager who has made a big difference in his field.”

Moyana is looking forward to working with all the key stakeholders to further drive the surface mining association’s work in the region. “I am looking forward to fruitful engagements with all the various stakeholders in the quest to further promote the work of the association for the betterment of our industry,” he says.
