New era in trucking efficiency

In response to growing pressure on transport operators to reduce operating costs while maintaining reliability, productivity and uptime in demanding operating conditions, Scania Southern Africa has introduced the Scania Super 13-litre, 6-cylinder inline powertrain into the domestic and regional market. Starting May this year, every locally assembled 420, 460 and 520 horsepower (hp) heavy-duty truck that rolls off Scania’s assembly line in Aeroton, south of Johannesburg, is now fitted with this optimised combustion engine powertrain, which lowers overall fuel consumption by 8% compared with the previous generation.
